Grandma Dee's Pepper Steak!

How is everyone doing? I hope you are all having a fabulous Sunday! I made an old family favorite tonight for dinner and it was really good! So filling, warm and comforting. Not too many ingredients needed and it really fills you up. Serve this on top of whole wheat jasmine rice or brown rice and a small green salad on the side and you have a fantastic dinner.

You will cut your sirloin tip into strips with a little oil and garlic powder and onion powder and brown for just a minute. Also add your sliced onion and let it saute a bit with the meat. It will give it some good flavor. Once it heats up you will want to add about 1/2 cup of water or less just to cover the meat. Turn it on low and cover for about 45 minutes. I also added 2 cloves of garlic minced for extra flavor.

While your meat is browning start your rice so it will have time to cook too. Time it just right and they will be done at around the same time! You can also cut your bell pepper so that it's ready.

After your meat simmers covered on low for about 45 minutes you will add one small can of tomato sauce and stir well. Salt and Pepper (you will need to salt this or it tends to be bland). Add your bell pepper to the top and cover with the lid and cook on low again for about 15 minutes. That's it! Add salt and pepper if you need extra and top your rice with the Pepper Steak.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday night! See you tomorrow.
